Can someone tell me why red wine reduces my blood sugars so much? I have the same food and if I have a bottle of red wine my blood sugars can come down as much as 4 points!!!!!

The liver regards alcohol as a poison and moves it to the top of its priorities. It lets everything hang until it has dealt with it. Then it resumes where it left off. Actually, I use a glass of red and some cheese last thing at night to dampen my 'morning phenomena'.
Crazy, but it works for me.
Cheers and bottoms up!!!!
Understanding alcohol reduces BS and that Lager increases BS levels isn't it a real pity the 2 don't cancel each other out - and there is zero effect on BS! ..... toooo much to ask!
Oh well back to the G&Ts and continue to look longingly at the pint of Stella! I sooo miss!
I don't think so, but where I live they do 'prescribe' activity and pay for those who want to and have a 'clinical need' to get fit with referrals to local leisure centres for structured exercise plans and gym membership I'm already 'smashing the phys' without it but have got a referral through the PN, I might have to blag my way through the first 'consultation' but hey if I can get 3 months free Gym bring it on!

P.S. If I do have to pay for going to the Gym, I would much rather pay for that knowing it is having an extremely positive effect on my well being, CV system, fitness etc etc than I would paying for test strips and self testing! .... Just my view!
