Reducing Metformin

Hi all, just wondered at what point my doctor would be likely to agree to me reducing my metformin, I'm on 3 x 500mg a day, just had my first hba1c back and its down from 8.0 at diagnosis to 5.8, despite me jumping off the bandwagon for the last 2 weeks before the test and eating everything in site that I shouldn't  , its no biggie but I hate taking tablets, Andy

With your doctor's Ok, you could probably try leaving out the midday tablet. You'd need to keep monitoring to see if your Bgs went up.
My doctor allows me to chose how many I use per day, up to 4. Metformin does have other beneficial effects other then helping your BG. Look it up

Hi, yes, I've read up on the other benefits of metformin but I'm also suffering other symptoms that haven't been found as of yet that I'm trying to eliminate by a process of elimination, trouble is it seems to have stumped my doctor and I think he's getting a bit fed up with the sight of me to be honest
