I have been trying to compare the costs of commonly used CGMs for those who have to fund them themselves, it’s not a case of just looking at the cost per sensor. I have up to now been using the Freestyle Libre 2, which I think is now discontinued in favour of the Libre 2 plus. I just did a few calculations and it turns out they are all much of a muchness when you break it down to cost per day.

Libre 2 £48.29 each which = £3.45/day (14 day sensor)

Libre 2 plus £51.74 each which = £3.45/day (15 day sensor)

Dexcom plus 1 £35 each which = £3.50/day (10 day sensor)

Just thought I’d post this to save anyone else doing the sums!

Edit for typo

There is also a £4.99 shipping charge from Dexcom if you order 1, 3 (Monthly) or 9 (quarterly) sensors. So it pays to get a quarterly subscription.

Just be careful with the Dexcom1, If you're an Android user there are a limited number of phones they're compatible with

I use an iPhone but useful to know if an Android user is considering Dexcom.

Thanks for putting that together. I self funded Libre2 for three months and it was a very helpful indicator within the mid ranges. Highs and lows were a bit more erratic.
I’ve now purchased three months worth of Dexcom1+ and am very impressed with its accuracy. Using them with iphone14 and love that it’s on my iwatch too without having to use a third party app.

Thanks for that additional info, especially about the Apple Watch compatibility, that could just tip the balance for me!
