Reliability of appointments?

I was told in July that my next eye screening will be in 6 months time. I've not heard anything as of yet. I was just wondering if having to chase up appointments is a frequent thing?

I'm getting concerned about my right eye, which a year ago was excellent.

It is here, I'm about 8 months overdue for hospital eye appointment.

8 months overdue? Do you not attend them or have you just not been invited?

I always attend them, there just aren't any appointments available at the moment. Not stressing about it, as have had scans etc done at opticians and all ok, but will keep ringing hospital for appointment, as opticians don't dilate your pupils.

I should have had mine in December, but when I phoned to enquire, I was told there were no appointments until March (so may I have one, please?) and they couldn't book me in so far ahead. Not too worried as it's purely monitoring for me, but I expect some of us should be seen sooner.

Having had laser surgery in the past, I'm supposed to be seen every 4 months (according to the Consultant or Dr I see each time).

My ophthalmologist surgeon wants to see me every 4 months, but even he has no power over the booking department who always stretch it by at least 6 weeks, if not more, no matter what he writes on the form.
Last saw him 21 Sept 22, next appt 19 April 23, that's 7 months

Where abouts in the country are you? I'd keep pushing - I lost some vision because of lack of eye screening.

My Eye and foot checks are back on annual review after a long break during the first year of covid. But appointments for other conditions are running very late.
Worth calling them to check as sometimes you just get lost in the system.

It's just a joke. They pressure you to keep your Hba1C in range (which mine has been for years) and then half-ass everything else. What's the point when you do your best, and then they let you down?
