I don’t know why it’s suddenly increased, could it be because I’ve gained some weight?
could it be because I’ve gained some weight?
Have you increased your long acting?
How recent are you talking? You don’t have any sort of bug/infection or feel like your coming down with something?
I had something very similar last week but this week I’ve returned to normal. Normally my breakfast would have 37g of carbs & 4 units would cover it. Last week I had to up it to 6 units & I was still spiking to 11/12mmol and no matter how much cardio/walking or correction insulin I took it wouldn’t come back down. This week I’ve returned to normal, it’s soo strange and mega annoying
Got any T2s in your family tree? You could be developing the T2 weight gain/higher insulin resistance/weight gain (via high bg plus high insulin) cycle. I have a similar issue and though I have't managed to lose more than a couple of kgs I stopped the weight gain by low carbing. (Not drastically, probably less than 100g a day.) My dad is T2, as is my cousin on his side of the family. My mum was T1. (And going off topic, both my husbands parents had T2, while his sisters are prediabetic, so our children are doomed to get T2 is they overdo the carbs).
You've probably got dawn phenomena in the morning as well. Personally, I'd ditch the porridge....
Nope nothing! It’s so annoying isn’t it, I’ve had bouts of it before due to hormones etc but the last month has been horrendous!
Havent changed any other medication that could cause resistance?
Job done..Aagh, looks like I've posted on the wrong thread of the two identical ones. @Jaylee , any chance you could merge the threads and move my post over??? (pretty please).
I’m hoping this is just a temp thing and nothing that’s going to continue or get worse - just annoying that I don’t know what’s caused it! X
