Hi,
I seem to be suffering from mild insomia lately! Especially when I wake in the night it takes a long time to get back to sleep.

I have recently changed from Novorapid to Apidra and wouldnt say that has changed anything really.

I do find my mattress quite uncomfortable due to bad back and will be changing that soon but do other T1's have restless nights / or any tips on how to overcome this?

I've never been a great sleeper unfortunately!

thanks
Paul

hi,

I usualy find im low if i can't fall asleep or have a restless night... i find a snack and some tv usually does the trick until i fall asleep.

Sometimes it's just a case of an overactive mind, in which case it's quite hard to "stop thinking" while your trying to fall asleep. I've not yet come across any method to resolve the overacting mind yet.... please let me know if you do though!

Try a memory foam mattress topper!

BGs are spot on now Sarah (sets in the post today - I promise!),

Handr and Sue, already have a memory foam mattress and unfortunately gone right off it! Was ok but find I get too hot and dont like the 'dead' feeling.

Try taking 100mg thiamine tablet before you go to bed. The B vitamins are good for calming the nerves so you should get a better nights sleep and also help ward off any nerve damage caused by diabetes.
