Restriction Diets now becoming mainstream ?

There certainly seems to be a growing body of evidence that restriction of nutrition has major impacts on Type 2 diabetes.
There are different sorts of restriction shown to have beneficial effects - very low calorie approaches such as in the work being done in Newcastle and the Yale study mentioned, moderately low - very low carbohydrate intake as in low carb & ketogenic diets, the fasting mimicing diet, intermittant / extended fasting etc.etc
There is still much dabate as to which is “the best” or the “ most sustainable” approach and I suspect the answer to those questions will be rather variable and ultimately rather individual.
Nutritional restriction is still the underlying commonality of approach
