Just had latest HbA1c result and its 5.5
5 months ago, the first one, it was 5.8
Thanks in part to all the contributors of the low-carb diet forum I have been able to achieve this reduction from your advice and experiences. It goes to show that low carbing, combined with a little extra exercise (& will power) works wonders. I have also lost 10% weight and got my BMI down to normal.
Regular testing helped to identify the foods to avoid however I am very happy with my new diet and dont miss the piles of white rice, pasta, potatos etc I used to eat. I still eat brown rice, wholemeal pasta, low GI bread etc occasionally but now its measured by the handfull not bowlfull. I still eat out occasionally and drink alcohol so its not all about starving yourself and being miserable.
So for those T2's trying to control it by diet/exercise alone, reductions can be acheived and I wish everyone success in their individual efforts.
