Too many to mention! Breakdown in respectful & courteous manners probably tops the list.
Hi everyone

Can anyone please give me some advice on this issue? I've just bee diagnosed with elevated blood pressure & my mild retinopathy has worsened! I now have about 3 retinal bleeds caused by high BP &/or high BS (been quite sick recently). Does anyone know whether these bleeds will go away once the BP problem is controlled by BP medication? I am about to see a diabetic eye specialist in a few days but am really fretting & worrying in the meantime. I am on day 4 of my new BP medication but it does not seem to be making much of a difference (Actacand, 8 mg).

Hi, I had retinal bleeds and was put on blood pressure tablets. Getting anxious will send your blood pressure up so try to relax and let the tablets work. If you can afford it buy your self a blood pressure guage and keep a record of what it is during the day. I did this and it will help to see if the tablets you are given are working as sometimes you may need a different one which is what happened to me but finally taking remipril, amlodipine and bendrotflumethiazide first thing in the morning my blood pressure is under control. There will be odd moments through high stress that your blood pressure will go up but it wont be as high as if your weren't taking your tablets. I have been taking my tablets for quite a few years now and its keeping it under control.

I was only diagnosed as Type 2 in March this year and had my 1st retinal eye test a few weeks ago and was called back as they had found something. It turned out that at the back of my right eye there is a blood clot in one of my veins. I was asked to come back in November to see if they need to laser it, in the meantime I was told if you get blood in your eye go straight to A&E!!! I think they are hoping it will just die and shrink go away not sure. A little bit alarmed but this is me not you everything could be okay they just taken a photo of your eyes after putting drops in (which do sting) they exam the photo's and if all okay will call you back in a years time - there are items on retinal already on this forum which did scare me a bit but everyone is diferent and you just have to deal with these things as they come along scary but I am hoping that in loosing 21/2 stone and hopefully more it will not only help my BS and BP but everything else.

Once your BP is under control and you calm down and relax - which I know is hard sometimes - but please try things will pan out.

All the best
Sue
