Retinopathy eye colour

My daughter has type 1 diabetes and has just had surgery on her right eye due retinopathy, the surgeon told her she may have very limited sight in that eye, anyway my daughter rang me tonight saying her eye was changing colour from blue to brown, should I be worried, she doesn’t appear to be
 
Hi Discovery!

I don't have any experience of this, so please don't take my word for it - but if my eye colour was getting darker after surgery for retinopathy, I'd seek urgent medical advice in case it was bleeding at the back of the eye. Others might come along with an explanation soon, but it's better to be safe than sorry, so i'd ring NHS Direct and get some advice.
