So I got the results for my retinopathy eye screening results back and it says that have been some changes and instead of going back in 12 months I have to go back in 6 months! So since getting this news it has given me a kick up the backside and well I wanna cut all sugar out etc, So has anyone got any tips etc? and maybe easy low carb meals?

Thanks

Three years ago my test came back with some background retinopathy and my latest tests have all come back clear so I would try not to worry too much, I think I remember other forum members saying the same.

I'm afraid I would would be concerned and want to improve matters, as Nicolas says some people are fortunate that the background changes disappear or never progress but this isn't always the case, so if your diabetes control isn't good then improving it will help matters. However just be careful, if bg control is poor and then tightened up too quickly this is known to make retinopathy worse, so any improvements should be done gradually over a longer period, if your not sure speak with your DSN or diabetes consultant about it first.
