Hi all,

I am new to this I apologise if someone's already asked. I can't sleep properly at the moment I'm so worried.

I have been Type 1 diabetic since I was 18 months old, and I'm now 19years and 2months.

I received a letter this Saturday saying that they have noticed changes in the back of my eyes (this has happened the past couple of years) and that they have noticed something at the back of my left eye, that if worsened, can lead to vision loss.

Please any help or advice would be appreciated, I'm so scared :-( :'(

Hello Katie, please try not to be scared. I don't know which thread it is but I know that I've read a post from someone who was in a similar position and who managed to reverse the signs of early retinopathy. Try googling retinopathy in the bar on the forum home page. I hope someone who has experienced this answers you soon but in the meantime please know that you're not alone and I'm sending you hugs x

Thank you.

It scared me as I've had this a few times but it said my left eye could suffer problems :( it feels different now and I am trying so hard to get my diabetes under control!! X

Sorry about your about your news @KatieLocks.

Try not to worry and see what the Ophthalmology Clinic have to say about the changes, they are very skilled and professional and will make every endeavour to save the sight in your eye.

I don't know if you've seen the following website before, it has some excellent advice & information on diabetic retinopathy which you may find useful:

Good luck and hope all goes well.
