Dennis, Is Rice Milk suitable for a type 2 diabetic, I have found that semi-skimmed now makes me feel nauseous. I am now drinking Earl Grey tea with lemon instead of defcaf. coffee with semi-skim.

Now been on Byetta for 6 months have lost 1.5 stones, feeling good, bs are down to 5-6 sometimes have a mini-hypo (low 4's high 3's) so not taking 1/2 gliclacide in the evenings, just morning with 2 Metformin twice a day.

Hope you are keeping well.

Hi Pauline,
Sounds like you are doing really well on byetta. Rice milk is a well known substitute for cows milk and it doesn't contain the high carbohydrate levels that rice itself has. However, you might want to look at this report from March this year.

I suspect that it will be the fat content of the milk that makes you feel nauseous. Have you tried fully skimmed milk, or alternatively soya milk - not to everyone's taste but a fraction of the carb that rice milk has?
