I've seen recipe's for making a cauliflower pizza dough but it seems that using riced cauliflower is used in several other ways too, eg as a rice substitute. Has anyone any experience of this and/or any tips? It seems unlikely but the stories all rave about it.
i use rice cauliflower quite often as a substitute for white rice.. its not quite the same but i just put the florets into the food processor with the grating attachment on... works ok with chilli and curry.. you can then just boil or steam it until tender...
Yep, I use this every time for rice - grate it then either lay out on a plate & microwave for a minute or 2, or fry for a couple of min (see SamJB's recent recipe thread for this a bit further down in this section).
It also makes a great mashed potato substitute, cooked then puréed with butter, cream, cheese & S&P - yummy!
Tried cauliflower rice once and hated it as it tasted nothing like rice, it was very bland and were I to make it again I'd add plenty of garlic and seasoning
