Hi everyone I recently received a letter from the diabetic shared clinic at my local surgery to have an HBA1C blood test done and 5 days after to ring the office and make an appointment to see the diabetic nurse who I have seen every year for the last 20 years although often not the same nurse, but every time I have done this I have been told by the nurse who instigated the appointment that they have no experience with type 1 diabetics so they just enquire about my health in general, anyway this year I went and had my blood test and have rung up every 2 weeks for the last 8 weeks to be told by the receptionist there are no appointments available and to ring back in 2 weeks so to avoid this I asked for an appointment in the new year and was told I cannot book an appointment more than 2 weeks in advance so I really do not know what to do but I will certainly not be trying to make another appointment but what a waste of everybody's time, money and blood test and what a ridiculous system. OK rant over
