Rivaroxaban and thyroxine

Type 1 novorapid and levemir. Yesterday got up, breakfast, jab, two hours later 21, today got up, breakfast, jab, two hours later 24 then it hit me! Forgot riveroxiban and thyroxin till that point. I jab at a ratio of .5 to 10 carbs and works fine except yesterday and today which I find odd as daughter is on 2.5 to 10 carbs. Now it struck me which drug is making me less insulin dependant Rivaroxaban or thyroxine? and how? Any thoughts
 
Hell of a difference. I'm on 175mcg thyroxine at the moment, used to be on 225. I have not seen forgetting thyroxine cause that big a difference in insulin sensitivity.

Not on Rivaroxaban so couldn't comment about potential side effects from that.

Are you sure your pen is good and you aren't coming down with something? Also just to confirm you are remembering your levemir (assuming a split dose) and that pen and test shots are also good.

Yep everything good. Also just thinking back last night was the first time I stayed level through the night, I have been putting levemir up and up to no effect. Taking rivaroxaban later would have stayed in system through the night longer. Rivaroxaban is an anticoagulant wonder if any tests were done. Maybe because it gets rid of the sticky coating around blood cells if it allows insulin to work more efficiently so only need small dose. The only other time I have not taken it for an operation I did not eat or jab so had no effect. Will do some research.
 
It's very unlikely to be due to the thyroxine, as it's biological half-life is quite long. About a week or so.

So missing just one thyroxine dose really should make very little short term difference.

I had diabetes burn out in the past which included me not taking half of my thyroxine dose for a month as I had convinced myself I didn't need it all. I was ill and sugar got higher and higher. Now I never miss my 200mg.

Yep, a change in dose over a month will definitely make a difference, but just missing one dose not so. Like I said the biological half-life of thyroxine is about a week, so it's fairly slow moving.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if low thyroid levels does have some impact on your blood glucose control. After all, the lower your basal metabolic rate then the slower that you are going to use up any excess glucose. It's just not going to start happening after missing a single dose when the H-L is 6 to 7 days.

Yea I missed my 125mg thyroxine and my sugars went up to 24 and I struggled the rest of the day to get them back. Wasn't until I realised I'd missed thyroxine that it made any sense to me.
 
I keep ready that levothyroxine isn't a good enough treatment.
I'm still struggling to lose weight because of underactive thyroid even though on 200mg levothyroxine!
I wish that part of my metabolism was fixed so I could handle my diabetes better.
7 and a half stones overweight and no fun.
I upped my exercise and now have a trapped nerve or something. Defeated the object all together. I'm a stranger to pain and not great at pain management. My poor kidneys with all these tablets!
I drink at least 2 litres of fluids but not a fan of water alone. Never have been.
My Christmas wish is to have my thyroid fixed so I can lose weight like non-hypothyroidism patients.
Is there a Santa? :-\
