On the weekend of the 23/24 June a the Royal British Legion Riders are having their sponsored long distance motorcycle ride in aid of their Poppy Appeal.
A group of very determined motorcyclists will attempt to cover 1000 miles during the course of the challenge which doesn't sound very far when you say it quickly and doesn't look very far on a small scale map of the uk.
Myself and my wife are going to make the attempt, the doctor has grudgingly given her go ahead provided I keep a very close eye on my levels.
We are going to attempt to cover the distance in less than 24 hours which will be quite an achievement.
What will be more of an achievement will be my wife sitting still for a 1000 miles, that deserves sponsorship on its own.
Anyway if anyone cares to support our attempt then let me know. We have a justgiving web page and details of the challenge can be found at www.rblr1000.co.uk
