So I've been rubbing a few weeks. Still not loving it! But it's improving. I'm having issues carting about my BG monitor and some hypo stop stuff etc.

Ideally id like a pair of trousers with big enough pockets etc to take it.... But they're quite big and pockets on running clothes quite small! Any ideas? I've looked online a bit but I'm not sure what I'm looking for!

And no - I'm not taking a bum bag. I have enough trouble maintaining my dignity as in sweaty and red faced without throwing a bum bag into the mix!

Perchance do you mean RUNNING
Anyway I thought running trousers were an embarrasing complication of too much metaformin or diabetic chocolate/sweets

Haha oops yes I meant running!!!

Those clown trousers have made me shiver. I hate clowns!

Lol, I have an arm pouch that fits a monitor & packet of sweets perfectly. The monitor I use for running is the mobile Accu check so the lancet is attached to the side & the test strips are in a pre loaded cartridge (or cassette) handy as its just 1 thing instead of 3 separates. I got the arm pouch in Tescos. Brought the monitor with me when buying an arm pouch to see if it fit. I use an ishuffle to listen to music so I just clip that onto my clothing & away I go!

Thanks! I had thought of strapping it to me somehow but didnt think to check the likes of tescos! Will have to look harder I think. I use a freestyle optium monitor, but it's all quite big once you include the lancet and some strips

What about a "Tomb Raider" look (meter & pricker in holsters 8) ) Although Aberdeen Beach on a cold wet morning ain't that glamourous

Probably be confused for a hooker if I was like that on Aberdeen beach haha! A belt could be a possibility though

You will find something you just need to be creative! I also wear a pump so I've to clip that to my shorts or sports bra! I'm more machine than human!! Lol

what's wrrong with a bum bag?
I can't run, but I hike and I have a spotted backpack. My grandchildren are Mr. Tumble fans and gave it to me for Christmas!
I personally think that running with your water bottle in your hand is daft. Hence everything in backpack, including sunhat.

I have a bottle with a hand slot. If I had a bag it would spend no time in it!

When I hike I have a camelpak which is perfect. Couldn't run with that though!

I hope ill get a pump one day, but that will be far away! At least I know I don't need insulin when I run so can leave needles at home haha

I also have that bottle with hole for your hand, I think they are great, esp if your gonna run for more than say 5k. I agree with you about the bum bag, I'd find it distracting to run with it bouncing up & down.

I either use a spi belt. (google) They don't bounce , well only very slightly and you get used to it. I also normally carry water in a hand carrier. If I'm going to be out for hours (i'm slow!) and want to take more with me I use a trail running belt . (again google finds lots)

I've seen that belt thing, I was worried about my monitor fitting as it looked narrow so I didn't want to buy online without having seen it first!

I might try tkmaxx this weekend, they're usually quite good for this stuff

I have a specialist running camelbak, with pouches on the front as well, but then I'm training for a specific event.

I also have a Deuter pulse three waist pack, looked at pulse two as well, bought it last year. The pulse three would definitely hold all you need, a bit more sophisticated than a bum bag.

Or perhaps these shorts http://www.ultramarathonrunningstor...omens-V-Notch-Short-With-Pockets-p/2312ld.htm

My spi belt is surprisingly stretchy. I can fit my pump in one pocket and my blood monitor, strip tube and finger pricker in the other side. I chose to get one with two pockets for that reason. Bounces a bit but isn't too bad.

Those shorts look good, but maybe a spi belt would be more practical. Hmmmm. Lots of good choices here!

I use the SPI belts and have several of them. I tend to just clip the pump to the waist band of the shorts, unless I'm doing a very muddy cross country race where I want it a bit more securely attached. Then I'd have a SPI belt with several gels in and as they are made of stretchy fabric you can get quite a bit into them and can get more than enough gels to cover a marathon distance in without it moving about enough to annoy me even at the start. Depending on what I'm doing I might sometimes also stick my phone in another belt, I use another one as the belt with the gels in can become a bit of a sticky mess after a few runs if I didn't find a bin along the way to get rid of the empties into.

You'll now be able to find the SPI belts in quite a few running shops and there are now UK based online retailers selling them as well.

You run with your dog, yes?

You could look into canicross equipment. You wear a belt round your waist and the dog wears a harness (to save neck injuries) which is attached to the belt by a special bungee line. Means you can run hands free and no sudden jolts or pulls to either of you. An added advantage is that you can have pockets added to your canicross belt to hold your things in.

I got mine from Kisi;

They can personalise the belt to suit your needs, including bottle holder. Really handy.
I don't bring my BG monitor out running, just testing before and after at home. But the normal pocket fits my keys, phone, ID card, gluco gels, treats (for dog) and roll of poo bags (again, for the dog!) and some tissues.

Hope that's of some help to you.

That looks awesome thanks! The pup already wears a harness but I have been walking to the park, then letting him off and running before putting his lead on and walking home again. This would hold my stuff and mean I can run to and from the park also!

I'm newly diagnosed so I take my meter when running just in case, I haven't had to use it yet though. If rather be safe than sorry
