What a silly nurse! For the first ten months of my diagnosis (May’17- beginning of this month) I did no formal exercise due to my arthritis in my feet causing problems. I had an operation in Dec on my foot so was walking even less for the first 3 months of this year. During that ten months I have lost nearly 5 1/2 stone by low carbing, between 40 - 60g carbs per day. I didn’t count calories at all. It’s only recently when I hit a plateau that I’ve been using some lower calorie alternatives. Maybe you could try lowering your carbs and forget about calories for a bit and see what happens. I’m not sure about the salty taste in your mouth but I have asthma too and have been told to rinse my mouth after using my inhalers especially the steroid one. I’m probably stating the obvious but just in case. I’m not keen on plain water so drink no added sugar squashes, if your ok with sweeteners that might help you drink more.
