I have just started paying attention to all of this and I was drinking a huge amount of fizzy diet drinks. I have started shopping around for alternatives and have started buying sainsburys squash as it is made with out any of the nasty sweeteners. I do now have the odd bit of fizzy but I have the sparkling springwater with natural flavourings (again with no nasty sweetners, good old sainsburys). I know most of you say just stick to water but I am one of those funny people that is not really keen on water on its own. Swapping to the squash has helped me though.
I was really surprised that all tesco's squash and fizz (with the odd exception) are made with aspartame where as sainsburys opt for sucrolose instead.
