Saturated fats and health

If you can't be bothered to read it all, here is the recommendation:

Recommendations

16.6

Based on the totality of the evidence considered, it is recommended that:

· the dietary reference value for saturated fats remains unchanged: that the population average contribution of saturated fatty acids to total dietary energy be reduced to no more than 10% (11% food and drink energy, excluding alcohol) For adults and children aged 5years and older

· saturated fats are substituted with unsaturated fats (PUFA or MUFA)

So no change then!

Thank you for posting the link @britishpub. I cut to the chase and picked out the item @Mr_Pot highlighted. Same old same old - kind of backs up why I felt depressed after watching The Magic Pill. Just what is it going to take to make 'them' change their tune?

'Science progresses one funeral at a time' Max Planck.
I reckon it may take a generation before attitudes change.

An end to COI.

Thank you @Mr_Pot I was wondering where I would find 3 days free to read it all.

Thank you also @britishpub for drawing our attention to it.

I shall make some attempts to read it.
I have only skimmed through it but I got the impression that nothing was particularly conclusive one way or the other or was contradictory, so they have kept to the status quo.

Yes, a good summary. Heavens above, you can't expect them to be controversial and go against the status quo.

I have given up challenging comments from idiots about fats in general. It only gets me dirty looks and snarky comments.
