I also think so. It is dangerously low value. Did you check twice?
I got tears in my eyes.. what a lovely experience. You can get hypo dogs so no reason why your cat can't detect changes in behaviour. Here is another similar story http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2013/mar/16/experience-my-cat-saved-my-life
At 1.30am I was in a deep sleep with hubby snoring beside me when our bedroom door flew wide open filling the room with light from the hall and with a loud meowing in bounded our cat. He usually sneaks quietly in so that in itself was strange. I decided whilst awake to do a blood test to be met with a 1.7 and still the husband snored on! Was I saved by the cat? I think so!

It is scary, but not actually dangerous to be at 1.7 as long as you stop it going down further and have your supplies to hand. Animals are very aware of these things. yours is obviously a very intelligent puss.

My partner has just shown me this quote to highlight the ignorance of some people. A blood sugar reading of 1.7 is serious no matter what type of diabetes someone has! The sooner this ignorance is addressed the better. I am quite amazed that someone who is a member of this forum would not understand the basics!!Depends if your type 1 or 2 as to if it is dangerous!

That's how I read it.I think 1.7 is dangerous for anyone but maybe what Engineer was trying to say was that if T1 or on insulin, that 1.7 may still well be dropping further ?
