Savoury Scones.. butter bean mash

Used to like bacon and leek diabetic scones but recipe was containing white flour and potato also... which gave spikes.. any ideas on similar but wholegrain flour and alternative to potato.. got a savoury tooth and type2 on metformin... any advice also on a butterbean based mash potato alternative recipe too?

looks an interesting idea, but I not tried it yet.
I wouldn't use a packet mix, as I use canderel instead of sugar, and a roughly equal mix of almond flour, soya flour, and chick pea flour to replace white flour, in normal recipes.
I find the chick pea is good in savoury recipes, almond in sweet, to I alter the mix a bit for each.

A small sweet potato, and cauli give a decent mash as well.
