Hi, been on the forum and watching the site for many years, but never decided to post. I was diagnosed with type two ten years ago, and for a fair while it was fine, but then my control got much worse until it was mid to high teens all the time, I tried to explain that my diet had not altered but I was accused on not being truthful. Due to my health I was eligible for a dietician to come to the house, where she saw what was being eaten, and infact told me I needed to eat more .... my lovely diabetic specialist nurse from the hospital after an initial ....realllly consultation where I was offered a pass to slimming world! We got back on track and I started insulin, I got an apology as the results show that I had changed from type two. I had been given metformin which I had a severe allergic reaction to, so the tablets were out of the question, I started on the insulin very slowly at a low dose and it has now been increased to 33 units of humalin I in the morning with 4unitd of humalin S just before my evening meal,. I am now getting readings of. 7 to 9 depending on how I am, certain problems I have seem to affect readings as well.
The injections are so easy to do, so any one who has a similar story please don’t worry about them.
