So I was made to feel rather ****** today because of my child's attendance. She is working above average in all top sets great attitude never gets in trouble reasonable control of numbers but she just picks up bugs & the school sends her home just as much as we keep her off

why can't everyone get on........
they are only interested in targets
-- go into school and tell them in no uncertain terms ( politely) your child is a human -- not a target and she has requirements that might not fit with their attendance goals
she is not failing ( far from it , it sounds like -- excelling more like )

How old is your daughter maybe its she missed work she can catch up after school anywise they shouldn't penalise you for her absence s due to her illness
