Type 1 School science project

Hiya so for our school we have to do an experiment and someone in my group suggested something to do with type one diabetes and everyone thought it was a great idea. The only issue is we have no idea what to do on it we asked about testing blood sugars and we aren’t aloud to test non diabetics blood sugars. Has anyone got any ideas thanks x

Try performing an airshot with 1u, then try it with 4...
 
Hi if you can't test blood can you check urine for ketones with ketostix ?

Scientifically you could also check carbohydrate content in food but would need a Bunsen burner not sure if that's allowed ?

I can collect my own just not anyone who isn’t type one I think it’s a school rule i was think weighing the same amount of different foods to see how they affect blood sugars
 
Or test soft drinks with a blood glucose meter including diet drinks to show the difference.
 
You could try testing the effects of an error code on a BG meter with a non D, compared, to the expected response of a diabetic.

Yes.. D humour.

You could set up a random object moving across a touch screen & test the cognitive/speed of reaction of varying age groups?

The same thing regarding age gap "muscular memory." Get an old dial phone & a modern touch screen, then ask the younger generation to race a "dialup" with a memorised number on both devices. Same with the "more mature."

There maybe surprises at the results..
