Got my SD Codefree meter from ebay, very easy to understand and use, so very happy with it. I bought 100 test strips and lancets at the same time. I thought the finger pricking might hurt, but not a bit, almost quite nice......does that make me kinky lol

I'm new to all this, but I can't seem to get away from high 7's and mid 8's. I guess I should try to get this down to 4 -6?

What are other guys views on the SD Codefree?

Thanks all. Dave

Don't know anout the codefree, as I use a bayer. But in terms of your numbers, it takes a while to get them down.
When are you testing though? The key to me is testing two hours after eating. If your reading is below 7.8, ok. If not, you had too many carbs in that meal so try a few less next time. Test after each meal type on 2 sparate occasions in case one reading is a fluke. You'll slowly work out what you can and can't eat. You won't need to test so often then; just when you try something new or now and again to make sure things aren't changing. Remember that eating the same thing at different times of the day will give different results, as will the method of cooking; roasting old potatos is better than boiling or mashing for example.
Keep a good record of your results and what you had eaten. Really useful for future reference
Happy pricking!

I have been using the SD Codefree since I was diagnosed in March and have had no problems with it. Never used any other monitor so can't compare it to any others but I am happy to trust the Codefree to guide me in the way Grazer has outlined in his post.

For me, 7.8 is too high for 2 hr PP (post prandial). I think everyone should aim for normal bg's as far as they can. No old potato is worth a 2 hr 7.8.
I use a Codefree and it's fine, I don't buy lancets though, just use the old ones until they are blunt.
