Sea swimming and blood sugar

I’m lucky enough to live in the coast and like to swim in the sea when I can. It’s still chilly enough to make me gasp when I first get in, I’m a bobber rather than a swimmer and I get out when I get too cold - probably 10-15 minutes in. I’m nearly five months into aT2 diagnosis but managed to bring my hba1c down from 68 to 39 on my first retest , through going low carb/higher fat, losing 40lbs (still got at least that again to lose) and and eating one meal a day. I eat my meal in the evening, don’t have any problems with feeling unwell/hungry during my fasting period and am very settled into this way of doing things.
For the first time I tested this morning after my dip (14hrs after having last eaten) and my blood sugar was 6.7.. Is there a physiological reason for this?

All sorts of exercise can cause fluctuations in blood sugar levels. Extreme exercise has been known to push levels up. I'd guess that cold water swimming could well be considered an extreme, however the excess sugar in your bloodstream will be being used up so don't necessarily take it as a negative.
