My endocrinologist has prescribed Semaglutide and was sent an Ozempic 0.5 mg injection pen by the pharmacy as they cannot get hold of the 0.25 starter dose of Ozempic.

I haven’t yet started my treatment of Semaglutide because of the dose issues.

As it appears the 0.25 Ozempic injection is unavailable my gp has asked me to use the 0.5 pen and inject this as a starter dose although my endocrinologist stipulated 0.25.

Should I be concerned ?

Hi not at all. The 0.25 is what is known as a therapeutic dose. It doesn’t have any health benefits but I would suggest some nausea and diarrhoea medication and possibly some gaviscon.
Good luck.
