I’ve just started using the Freestyle Libre this morning. My Diabetic Nurse attached the sensor onto me herself so I know it was on properly. I went to a sunbed salon & did 12 minutes & the sensor fell off! I had to ring Abbotts to get a replacement but it won’t be delivered for 3-5 working days - how do others keep their sensor on (I have very oily skin) & what do you do when you have no sensor to use for nearly a week? And they’re soooooo expensive! I know I can use my ordinary meter but I really want the sensor to work. Thanks in advance.

I am not a Libre user myself but I have heard that other members use adhesive pads

Skintac wipes are apparently another way of getting it to stick down better (also available on Amazon) by rubbing the are the sensor will be applied to beforehand. Rock Tape can go over the top of the sensor also but I don't think that sounds effective for you if the issue is the adhesive lifting.

@Laura68 . Use Dexcom CGM as opposed to libre but principles are the same for application.
1. Shave the area. Everyone has a light covering of hair.
2. Clean area with alcohol wipe.
3. Apply Skintac to area you want sensor placement.
4. Apply sensor.
5. Apply after market adhesive patch or adhesive dressing. Libre patches are available cut to size and ready to use.
Opsite, Tegaderm will need cutting to fit.
Hope you manage to keep um stuck on:)
