hi
has anyone had similar experiences or advice. i waa diagosed in late may h1ac 147. i have been learning from these forums and my meter and low carbing for last 8 weeks or so. 2 weeks ago my h1ac was down to 47 and for the last few weeks fasting blood low 5s or even 4s with no peaks above low 8s and few of them. so thoight i had cracked it.

but for the last week i have had a mild cold or potentially a reaction to flue jab and my bloods have shot up again last 2 days i have had fasting of 8.7 and 7.3 and have been spiking up to high 9s after meals. things like plate of green veg and pesto and cheese.

Firstly you have been doing really well so congratulations! My nurse seemed to think 10 was a good post prandial reading ..... but less than 8.5 is best. My meter registers a little bit higher. You have had a cold so that probably explains the higher numbers. Relax. Things will return to normal!

yes your first numbers are like mine with low carbing, and it is perfectly normal to get higher numbers while being ill...
