Hi. I am a university professor in Islamabad and 58 yrs old with 6 feet height. I was diagnosed diabetes during my routine annual medical checkup in October 2021 last year. i found high H1c upto 7.2 . I was 57 yrs old at that time . Initially i was worried and took it very seriously. None of my family members and parents were ever suffered from diabetes. So I went to medical specialist, followed his prescriptions (SITA 50 ) twice a day. I started strict control on my diet and also did lots of, lots of exercise and physical activity. This i continued for three months and i reduced H1c value lower to 4.8 in just three months. My weight also reduced to 10 to 15 kg.
I then, stopped taking all diabetes medicines (like Sita 50) . Now keeping diet and exercise to maintain glucose level at low for last 8 months. I also take multivitamin subex Z off and on. However, i find that my body fat still burns and stops me to gain weight as i used to have. . This keeps my face skinny and looks older. i dnt know its cause. otherwise i m feeling ok and healthy. my weight is maintained at 85kg .
What i learned so far is that eat food with low glycemic index. use salad in meals. Do physical activity after taking meals (light exercise or walk within 30 min after taking meal ). Daily brisk walk for bout 30 minutes. and keep vigilent about deficiency of vitamin and neutritions. , Drink more water, eat less but more number of times.
