I was diagnosed with T1 late last month, and have managed to get my BG levels way down, now generally between 4-7 at most times. However, when it comes to the evening, I am starting to struggle more with breathing which is a completely new phenomena for me, having always been a healthy individual (up until my body decided to attack itself, that is!). I have woke up in the middle of the night on most nights since I have been out of the hospital (was diagnosed via DKA on 23 December), where I have had a shortness of breath, and this compounded with a very dry mouth. When I check my BG levels, they have always been above 5 but never higher than 8, so I am not sure what is causing me issue at night, and this is causing me great concern. If anyone has any idea what this could possibly be a result of, I would love to hear from you..
