Looking for some advice.

I was diagnosed with T2 since start of 2012. I have had a number of blood tests but i am not on meds because i would refer to control this through diet. my doctor is ok with this but at my diabetic review with nurse she suggested i should be on meds to control my sugar levels.

My HbA1C readings since 2012 have been.

52, 49, 55, 48, 52.

My cholesterol levels average to 5.2 (none have been below 5).

Looking online the numbers seem OK, but i'd like to ask you guys whether these levels are acceptable.

I am on meds for high blood pressure since 2006. I was diagnosed with very very high level of bp

Hi,

If I were you I would be looking to reduce those HbA1c readings. Whilst not drastic, they aren't good either. If you are serious about not wanting help from meds, then you need to re-think your diet and add some more exercise. In fact, if you start on Metformin you will still need to re-think your diet to get those levels down as Metformin alone won't do it for you. Please have a browse round the forum, look at what others are doing, then come back with any questions you have.
