I am currently taking an antipsychotic medication for bipolar and one of the potential side affects is development of diabetes.
I hadn't given this much thought until out if the blue I decided to do my BG today (my daughter has a tester) before lunch it was 9.0 and two hours after lunch (2 bacon rolls) it was 11.3
Should I be worried - does this mean I have diabetes?

The 9.0 before lunch is high. I have no idea what the meds might do though.

I would get yourself checked out properly.

Well, those BG levels are quite hi but it is possible it is a 1 off. Few options for you really; 1 is speak to your pharmacist, 2 consult your Dr, 3 monitor your BG levels at different times and compare. Or, all of the above :-)

Concerned is a better word. Going to your doctor is probably best, take some readings at different times as suggested, look out for other symptoms like thirst.
