I do not have diabetes
Hi I'm going on holiday on Saturday & was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes on Monday I'm not on any medication & the nurse said I don't need a monitor just now. But was wondering if I should buy one to take with me as I'm a bit scared incase when I'm away my levels rise & I don't know I want to be able to enjoy my holiday without worrying if my blood sugar is to high terrified I might take a hypo any suggestions please.

I would relax, have a lovely holiday, don't eat or cut down on grain product, bread, pasta and have only 1/2-2/3 cup of potato or rice, eat lots of veg, olive oils and normal amount of meats.
that should do you nicely till you get back, I would order the codefree meter and strips off of amazon uk, for when you get back. as it works out cheaper.

you can't go diabetic hypo without the drugs that can cause hypo
