Should I get tested?

I do not have diabetes
Hi!
I would really appreciate some advice. I have been googling some problems which I have been experiencing lately and Diabetes has come up several times.

Some of which include:
Acne in random places around my body.

I'm a cyclist, and find it really difficult to recover after training.

I'm always hungry and feel the need to drink water regularly. Its not a big thirst or anything but rather a more subtle consistent need to drink water.
If I miss a meal, I feel weak and find it difficult to concentrate and feel quite jittery. (e.g. breakfast might be cereal + toast at 7.45 and by 11/12 feeling a bit weak)
I also visit the toilet regularly, but that is probably because I'm drinking too much..

If I eat too many biscuits/ chocolate sweets (or coco pops), I get more acne around my body and my skin becomes inflamed in places, but anti histamines seem to reduce the symptoms.

I'm also 24, 5'7 and weigh 53 kg, which I believe is underweight for my height?
I'm sure I've left out something, but is it worth checking out?

My father also has Diabetes (Type 2 I think - got it a 40 yrs), but I rather not ask him about it as he worries a lot. My mum reckons that I'm looking too much into the above, and that it could be an allergy or something. I've had blood tests done in the last 12 months to check for a virus when I was getting the skin inflammation, but that was before I discovered that chocolate was its trigger. Would Diabetes show up in the bloods if they were just to check for a virus?

Appreciate any input! Am I looking too much into it?
Thanks for reading. :)

Hi there! Why don't you get a bs test. Lots of chemists do one for free. if it's above 5.9 before food then you could be diabetic. You could get a meter. The best one is the SD code free because the strips are the cheapest around. If you go to the chemists the strips are £25 per pot for the meters they sell. Although you must buy the codefree on line, you can buy the strips in bulk eg 5 pots for £25 if you use the discount code. First class postage is 50p.

I kept a food diary. In the beginning, test before food and then 1 hour and 2 hours after. This gives you an idea of what foods you can and can't eat. After a month or two you will have a pretty good idea and will need to test less often though I usually test a couple of times a day or if I feel funny or unwell.
I also followed a low carb diet. LCHF worked for me. It's easy, don't need to weigh anything or carb or calorie count and the food is filling. I have lost 3 St 10lbs since January. See

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

acne is maybe hormonal and probably isn't diabetic, I would see your dr for a full blood test for the thirst and underweight, 2 things that need checking out

Thanksgiving for reading. :)
Really need to see your doctor about this. We have not enough information about you so can't form an opinion.

its worth getting tested,
your surgery will organise a blood test or see the chemist
