Hi

I am permanently tired and thirsty, during the evening whilst in bed I drink at least 4 pints of water, not sipping but gulping to quench. When I am at work I am lethargic and again am constantly thirsty. I am approx 9 stone and 5ft 2", very slim really but eat quite alot considering my size. When out shopping for example,I cannot go without having to buy a drink to quench my thirst and reguarly drink some of a bottle of water whilst in the supermarket !!!!
Regarding sleep,, I could place my head down and nod off anywhere
I have been tested for diabets 3 -4 years ago, and the Doctor said everything was okay ?? Do you think I should go back to the doctor?, or not bother as I have already had a test ? I dont really want to go and have the doctor think I am one of those patients that moan!!!! I am 33 years of age.

All I can advise is to go and ask for the fasting blood test, i was tested loads over my life but only when i had the fasting test did anything show up, could be that i've only just got it, or could be that it got missed, i'm not sure, but with the fasting test there is no doubt, as far as i know?

Fasting BG misses a lot of cases where the postprandial numbers go up first. I'd get it done again and make sure you get the actual *number*. If that is normal I'd eat or drink a load of carbs and go to the pharmacy about half an hour later for a spot test. If that showed out of range I'd go back to the doctor and ask for a Glucose Tolerance Test.

It would be worth getting a general screening also in case it's something else. Blood pressure and Full Lipid Panel would be a good plan alongside the usual blood count, liver and kidney function etc. also thyroid
