Sick of neuropathy pain

I have neuropathy, and I am so sick of the pain. My fingers and feet hurt constantly, my skin feels raw, and I get stabbing pains that can make me cry out, and that wake me up most nights. I have other complications from other illnesses so this is complex. I take the maximum dosage of Lyrica, and have tried gabapentin. The pain makes me so bad tempered that I have to retreat to another room so I don't take it out on my husband. The pains in my fingers make me dread testing, and I am becoming phobic now about injecting in case I hit a nerve. I guess I am looking for anyone else who has experienced similar, and how you coped. I am probably looking for a soothing comment from a fellow sufferer rather than medical advice. I have been a T2 for 14 years, and have researched my illness thoroughly, but dealing with it is hard. How did you cope?

For while, I tried testing elsewhere than fingers as it does not hurt so much. I also limited testing to wakeup, one after breakfast testing for spikes, one after dinner testing for spikes

Also, using the swab with aloe vera was gentler than just alcohol

coping is a ***** for sure. I am T2 for 15 years

Thank you Galja. What other sites do you use for testing?

I find coconut oil soothing and a fluffy or other pillow under areas that hurt at night. Then there is always music

Over the past couple of weeks, the numbness in my feet has got much worse and goes up to my ankles on bad days. My finger pain had been just in the tips, but has now spread to the knuckles, again on bad days. What is happening to my appendages? They look fine, are a good colour, I can see no visible changes. But this neuropathic advance has happened quickly.
