Sickness and ketones

My son has been vomiting for 6 hours on and off. He hasn`t been able to eat but has sipped water. His blood glucose levels are 12 - 14 and he has ketones of +4. I have injected small amounts of insulin every 2 hours but there has been no change in levels or ketones. Are we doing the right thing?

TDD is total daily dose by the way (long acting and quick acting when looing at a normal day) so if I had 4 QA in the morning 4 with lunch and 4 with tea then 10 long acting at night my total daily dose would be 22 .

So if I had keytones of 1.5 I would have 2 to 3 QA units every 2 hours if I had keytones over 3.0 I would have 4 QA units every 2 hours. This would stop when glucose leves and keytones drop again.

As I said before though best bet is to contact you diabetes team and get them to talk you through it.
