Hi it's not me with type 1 diabetes it's my daughter, she's been throwing up with a sickness bug since 4 this morning and i was wondering if i should give her insulin even though she hasn't eaten anything just sipping flat lemonade ,she's now not throwing anything up just bile and she's not wanting to wee so i can't check for ketons , we are check sugars and ranging between 8-9 should i give levermer as she has 10 in the morning normally and 8 novapid would be grateful for advice

Yes most definitely give her background insulin. Her body doesn't produce any so you need to replace what isn't there for her. Any concerns though give the hospital team a call.

Thank you for your advice she's now stopped being sick ,sugars are stable ,she says she feels sick but has stopped last time sge was sick was 11 o clock thus morning so hoping bug is out of her system thanks for the helpful advice ☺
