being woken up early :(
so my glucose was high for a few days with no ketones, this morning I'm at 5.6 but feeling really sick. I've been throwing up, had the runs, been dizzy with vertigo and very weak. I don't want to call my doctor because I think it's not important but I don't know what to do, I can't keep food down. Thank you in advance. Nadine

Sorry to hear that you are sick. As you probably know when you are sick your blood sugar can rocket upwards hence more insulin may be needed as I've found out recently following an operation. I can only suggest measuring very frequently to check your blood and as your food intake is variable you need to both avoid a hypo and high blood sugar; not easy. Obviously you need to see the GP if the sickness continues. I hope it passes quickly and have plenty of fluids.

Hello Peachypuff72, sounds like you have caught a nasty virus. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.

How are you feeling now? x

I had a hypo earlier at 2.1 and passed out. I was very scared as I was alone at home. I've been drinking plenty of fluids and managed a whole meal tonight with more carbs. Thank you for asking x

Keep a close eye on those sugars to stay safe

Been very careful so far today. I keep panicking incase it happens again. I have to wait to see my nurse. . Eat little and often is usually the best way. I was very low when I woke up this morning, so I treated myself to a hot chocolate xx
