Being new to all this malarky, i thought id treat myself to some diabetic throntons toffee. I've been so good the past few weeks and all ive had was a small milka bar which i made to last 4 hours... that amazing for me.
Still, i should have read more on here first, i was soooo wrong.
Thank god i was at my parents for the night, and my ever so supportive boyfriend found my mad dash's hillarious.

Still, at least i lost a few extra pounds i guess!!

Never again with the polyols for me...

the possible hard way

so my list of no foods no stand at...
diabetic sweets
wine
carbs

Result, think i'll just buy half a cow from a butchers and eat that :D :)

Just be sure to cook it first

Oh that's a shame. They don't seem to have an effect on me in that way. Sometimes I wish they would to balance out the effect of the low carb diet

Hope you are feeling ok today!

felt a bit shakey the few hours after so had some jelly beans and felt loads better.

today im just sticking to my usual meat and salads :)

I've had one before Kimberley after a recommendation from my brother-in-law, it was OK but I like my steak done medium but not too overcooked.

I am sure most of us have learned that lesson. My Parents in law would always buy me some diabetic chocolate. Thought it was a real treat! I soon learned my lesson too

the wine and my metformin don't really mix mary, gives me a thumping sore head and sweat almost instantly. I miss the odd glass, but i need to get my lvls down and weight before i casn treat myself :)

Other half is a cattle farmer noble, i do love all steaks!

Hiya, I can tolerate one or maybe two Thorntons chocolates before they have that affect on me, but anymore than that I am in trouble. Diabetic marmalade has the same if not worse effect. But if I am only going to have one or two, my thinking is I may as well have the real thing every once in a while.

I am a store cattle farmers wife too :) Love my steak medium rare, very hard to get just right but when I do Mmmmm  :)

Reading your post made me remember my first Christmas with diabetes, everyone bought me diabetic chocolates from Thorntons, I had no idea of the impact they would have, on Boxing day I thought I had contracted some dreadful stomach bug!!!!! Lol. Never again!

I have tried diabetic chocolates..not very keen but then I haven't got a sweet tooth. As for rare steaks..

I cannot eat any meat that has even the slightest touch of pink in it, even steak. My steak has to be thin, brown right through and with no fat otherwise I can't even comtemplate eating it.

Hubby says it bears a strong resemblance to the sole of a shoe! Daughter hates the way I eat steak too, she loves hers rare..she says you should be able to hear it go "moo".

Lovely family I have got..

Lol ladybird, I know exactly what you mean, I like my meat cooked! If it looks like a good vet could revive it, then forget it!
