Don't worry - we have all been there. 
Open your profile, and then click the Alerts option. (if you are using the main forum website, you can open your profile by clicking on your small avatar pic top right. Not sure how to do in in the App)
You get a whole list of different tick boxes so you can choose which Alerts you want to receive and which you don't.
