Sorry to waste space for this, but how do I reply to someone's post and get this symbol @ and there name in red at the start of my reply? I am 52 and type 1 so please show me some mercy, not very good with technology. Sorry

Like this @therower Put the @ then do NOT use a space just start typing the name you want and a tiny drop menu will appear as you type. You can then click on the name in that drop down menu or type it in yourself in full.

If you get it right, it'll automatically appear in red.

Try tagging me, if you like : )

There is no such thing as a silly question on here. I too didn''t know how to do it and 'cos of your request - now I do !

thank you.

@Serena51 seems we both a little wiser now. Sometimes the simple things are the hardest to grasp.

It seems to need a space at start and after for it to show as a tag in red.

Yes, that's right - just like you'd write a separate word

My post said not to put a space after the @, which is the mistake most people make

@therower will you be tagging everyone in sight now

I can remember tearing my hair out when I had a fullstop after the name and thought it was a dustspeck on the screen. It can also trip up if it is the end of the post, where it looks like there is spaces after, but that is just the blank screen.

@himtoo you make it so easy for me. It's like Xmas and I've got the toy I've wanted all year.
