Simvastatin 40mg headache!

Hi! My dad has been diabetic for over 20 years and earlier this year he suffered a stroke. He had an operation to clear his left coroted artery and he was then prescribed simvastatin 40mg. He also used to smoke but gave up on the morning he had his stroke. Two months later (after spending a month on holiday in the warmer climate of Italy) he has started to get headaches at roughly the same time every day, this after never suffering from headaches in his life! Now we are both trying to deduce the cause and why it is happening two months later, whether it's the nicotine withdrawel, simvastatin side-effects, warmer climate or some combination of these.

If anyone can help shine some light on this subject it would be greatly appreciated! :)

Thanks!

Hi Pete,

I would ask your dad to go along and mention this to his doctor, headaches at the same time each day needs to be investigated, it could be side-effects, but only a doctor will determine this.
