Hi @aleem, I'm afraid you need to be much more specific in terms of important to what? Each of those have different affects, and are important to different people for different reasons. For me, carbs are the most important, because that defines how much insulin I need and GI/fructose (why no mention of any of the other sugars?) are also important, because that defines how early I need my insulin.

Syed, as Paul pointed out, they are all important for different reasons:

GL, will guide you in terms of glucose impact from specific foods

Calories can be important for those on an LCHF maintenance part of their diet, if they are consuming more both an they are expending, even if they are sliding my the principles of low carb, moderate protein and high fat.

Carbs- most diabetics are intolerant to some degree

Fat - most of us are not eating enough fat, especially if we end up cutting the carbs. Need to be aware of the good fats and the toxic fat such as trans and hydrogenated from crackers, veg oil, margarine

Fructose - the suffer in fruit. Only the liver can deal with this and again most diabetics have to be careful about types and frequency and quantity. Lowest impact are generally berries.
