Hi all

just a quick question, wanted to know what is the difference between the Januvia (sitagliptin) and the Xelevia (sitagliptin). I know they both have the same ingredients but manufactured in different countries.

I have taken both drugs, however, I had a reaction to the Januvia (sitagliptin). I am very keen to find more information about these drugs.

please help me gather more information on these drugs

Sea** - I have no personal experience of either drug, but sometimes the reactions, such as yours are related to the fillers in the tablets. I have that with a particular brand of levothyroxine.

All I have done about it is I always check my prescription befor e I leave the pharmacy and if they have unknowingly given me the brand I don't get on with, they are happy to change it. To be fair, having explained what happens, the pharmacy have marked my record accordingly. You can also ask your prescriber to only prescribe the brand you get along with.

If you need the tablets changed, that needs to be done before you leave the pharmacy, otherwise you'll need a new prrerescrription as the pharmacy wouldn't be able to swap.
