Hello Folks - I went onto insulin in July last year. Diagnosed type 1 at age 55. I had been on oral meds for 7 years prior. Around early November 2014 I started getting the first sign of Pityriasis Rosea - unknown to me at the time (confirmed in a biopsy a few weeks ago). While the worst of the rash has gone down it occasionally flares up and there are some areas that are red and don't disappear. Has anyone got a similar experience ie getting Pityriasis Rosea after going on to insulin? The dermatologist says my case is one of the most unusual he has seen. I'm on 3 shots of rapid and 1 long acting (Levemir) each day. No problems at injection site have been noticed ie I can't see any obvious signs of allergy to insulin.
