Slightly increasing carbs & better BS?

Hi folks,
I'm prediabetic and been following a very LC (ketogenic? <50g net) diet for over a year. Was pushing the too-skinny line and feeling tired after exercise so I thought I'd try to increase slightly to more "typical" low carb (net 50-100g/day). I think I'm feeling somewhat better, stopping the weight loss and actually having *better* blood sugars. Has anyone else been though this? I'm guessing it's because a little more carb is stimulating my pancreas to release more insulin (I don't think I'm very insulin resistant; no "metabolic syndrome" signs and lowish c-peptide)? Anyway, I mostly wanted to check in because, while it's lovely to let myself eat an apple, few bites of yam, or a couple wasa crackers with almond butter, I am wondering if there are any caveats or pitfalls to be on the lookout for. My stomach has been extra rumbly with this, but that could also be because I've been paying too much attention to that US election...
Thanks!

Some say that when you go really ketogenic you actually become a bit more insuline resisstant because of the all time burning fat mode . And that everybody becomes that also non diabetics . Thats also maybe why your Numbers have become a little better

Yes, coming out of keto for me gave me a short influx of good bs. I blamed the liver and muscles still ingesting the glucose from the extra carbs, to dump at a later date. Less liver dumping for me in keto.
If you do start rising, it may start on the morning because of dawn phenomoneum. Which insulin resistant sufferers try to block to keep their overburdened pancreas from having to work on. (Anything to reduce insulin resistance, I find helps me).

Well, my fasting #´s have been better, and they were my nemesis on a very low carb diet. (Better for me = high 5's.) But I may be having some unfortunate postprandial tradeoffs--or at least I did last night. So frustrating that every time I think I've figured something out a new catch emerges! I'll try this for another week and see what picture emerges, I guess. It is so lovely to go to bed not feeling hungry! But, we shall see.

Just by way of an update, 6 wk later I had my quarterly bloods, and although I've had a bit more in the way of symptoms (mostly just the feeling the postprandial highs, hand/foot swelling, thrush), neither fasting nor HbA1C have changed. So that's good, I suppose. Going to continue to let myself eat up to 100g/day carb and see how things continue.
